The Language Centre, located in the lovely coastal city of Denia, beside the Mediterranean seaand at the foot of the Montgó mountain, carries out its teaching activities backed by its extensive experience in perfecting its different linguistic and touristic resources. It has 7 comfortable classrooms, distributed in two adjacent buildings, which are furnished with all the necessary equipment and installations, such as television, video, audio equipment and a multi-media room at the disposal of the students.

The teaching method is based on the acquiring of the four basic skills: oral comprehension, conversation, reading and writing.

After taking an initial test for admission, the students are assigned to their respective classes. The courses are divided into three levels: A1, A2, B1, as is established in the European Reference Framework for learning foreign languages. The School forms a part of the network of “Associated Cervantes Schools” and is also duly recognised by other official bodies, such as the “CSN” of Sweden and the “Bildungsurlaub” of Germany.

The Centre responds with a broad range of courses to suit the different needs and demands of the student body and it opens its doors to both resident as well as transient students. Their highly qualified staff offers all the necessary professional requisites, comparable to any of its European counterparts, so that the student can feel totally supported and protected by our staff of teachers and by our administrative personnel.

accommodation

The School provides accommodation:

• With a Spanish family, which makes it possible to get to know the real Spanish lifestyle, the customs, the food and the way we have fun, and it also enables the student to practise Spanish outside of class hours. We can offer a large number of reliable families who have a great deal of experience with foreign students.

• Sharing a flat is a more independent option, where the student would have his own room, but share the living room, kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine... with others.

• Apartments on the beach: the school can rent a whole apartment for the student if he or she desires it. This is an exclusive service which we offer to our students during their period of study at the school.

programme of activities

The Language Centre carries out a series of activities every week, which are programmed fifteen days in advance.

The plan of activities are reflected in three specific alternatives: cultural activities (painting exhibitions, photography shows, concerts...); sports activities (soccer, beach volleyball, hiking, sailing...) or just leisure time and relax (a welcome cocktail party, tapa hopping, gastronomic tours and a special party programme). Once a month, an “inter-cultural encounter” is held, among the different students, Spanish and non-Spanish, in order to thus encourage a more authentic view of Spain and create a suitable every day linguistic environment.

We also organise a “Cinemanía” programme, with the showing of a Spanish film in our classrooms or the possibility of going to the cinema to see a sub-titled version. Any problems with vocabulary or comprehension are resolved in class afterwards.
