The Spanish Institute features modern installations located on the main floor of a large building but with a separate entrance, and just a few minutes from the historic centre of Castellón. Nearby, Ribalta Park –a kind of botanical garden with a deeply rooted tradition in our city, which contains a great variety of plant species–, the bullring and the old railway station. The Spanish Institute is the centre of advanced studies in Castellón; 800 m2 of installations distributed in the following way: 5 classrooms, 1 language laboratory, 3 computer laboratories, 1 computer design laboratory, book library, video library and general services. In addition, it meets all the safety measures required by premises of this size.

The Spanish Language Department for Foreigners concentrates its programming around the development of Spanish Language Programmes for all levels, and it is noted for the quality of its teaching and its highly professional staff. It forms a part of our International Department, which is directed by a multi-lingual professional, in charge of coordinating all the different aspects of the course.

CERTIFICATIONS: The Spanish Institute offers the Certificado de Calidad en la Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera (CEELE – Quality Certificate of Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language). We were in fact the first school in Castellón to obtain the ISO 9001 Certificate. We have currently adapted our system to meet the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.

courses offered

- Levels: Beginner, elementary, intermediate, advanced and superior. The student’s level is evaluated by the teaching staff. On the day of arrival, the students do a test and have a personal interview with the teacher in order to assign them to the group which is most suited to their individual level.

- Duration: The courses last a minimum of two weeks.Classes begin every Monday of the year. The summer course begins every Monday in July and August.

- The Spanish Institute offers the following courses:

• General Spanish: 15 hours a week.

• Intensive Spanish: 20 hours a week.

• Super-Intensive Spanish: 25 hours a week.

• Special Spanish for executives.

• Internships in companies.

• Private classes.

The Spanish Institute organizes accommodations in Castellón to suit the individual needs of the student. Among the many options, the School offers lodging in luxury hotels, hostels, apartments on the beach or living with carefully selected families of the area. This latter option is the most popular and also the most effective way to complement the learning of a language. Living with a family not only offers a certain convenience but also the opportunity of continuing to practice Spanish outside of class hours and in every day situations. The possibility also exists of the student choosing a private form of accommodation

In their free time, the students of Spanish Institue can enjoy a whole range of cultural experiences, sports (Swimming, tennis, golf, horseback riding, indoor soccer) and free time activities which our city and its surroundings offer: beaches (Benicasim, Peñíscola, Oropesa), natural scenery (the Las Palmas Desert, the Columbretes Islands), picturesque inland areas, as well as a highly extensive cultural offering. The first day of class, and without any additional cost, we offer all the students a guided tour of Castellón.
