The Giralda Center is a pioneer school in Sevilla in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Since 1982, more than 15,000 students from all over the world have attended our courses in order to learn the language and discover Spanish culture. The Giralda Center is a Language Center in which the local students from Sevilla can also study English, French, German or Italian; this makes it possible to maintain a permanent offer of linguistic exchanges, which favours both the learning experiences as well as human relations. We participate, as a result, in an overall communications project.

Why choose the Giralda Center?

Small, homogeneous groups are set up. We guarantee a maximum of 8 students per classroom and per level. We offer six different levels of teaching and general and specific language courses. We organise a minimum of ten extra-curricular activities a month and also offer free Internet access service. We pay special attention to the individual needs of our student body, both from the pedagogical as well as the human point of view. We are located in the heart of Sevilla. Our School is found on Mateos Gago street, at the entrance to Sevilla’s historical Santa Cruz quarter.

courses offered

- Standard Spanish: 20 hours/week. From Monday to Friday. A duration of from 1 to 24 weeks. A maximum of 8 students per class. All year long. A special course intended for a minimum of 2 week stays.

- Intensive Spanish: 20 hours/week of a “Standard Spanish” course + 10 hours/week of practice in minigroups (1-4 students). All year long. A special course designed for students who do not have a lot of time.

- DELE: Preparatory course for the Diplomas in Spanish from the Instituto Cervantes. A maximum of 10 students per class. Three levels are offered: Initial/Basic/Superior. 60 hours in 3 weeks. From Monday to Friday. Exams in May and November.

- Spanish for Business: 20 hours/week of a “Standard Spanish” course + 10 hours/week of “Spanish for Business” in mini-groups (1-4 students). All year long. Course for students in the business world.

- Combined Spanish course: 20 hours/ week of a “Standard Course” + a private course of 10, 20, 30, 40 hours. A course designed for students who want to combine the advantages of a group course with private classes focussing on their specific needs.

- Options: Courses in Hispanic Literature and Civilisation.

- Didactics of Spanish/LE.

- “One to One” Course: private classes or in groups according to the particular goals of the participants. All year long.

accommodation

All the accommodations are located in the historic centre of Sevilla, very close to the School.

• We offer the possibility of sharing a flat with Spaniards, with access to all the communal facilities of the house.A single or double room.

• A room with a Spanish family with half board: breakfast and lunch. A single or double room.

• An apartment or studio for 1 or 2 people, 1 bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom.

programme of activities

We understand that the learning process must be completed with other educational actions outside of the classroom; in order to achieve this, we propose participating actively in both cultural and linguistic as well as festive activities. All of these activities have been designed by our teaching staff who will accompany you during the
excursions proposed each month.
A minimum of 10 activities are organised each month: Short and longer excursions • Cultural and linguistic trips: visits to the city and linguistic adventures which will enable you to discover the secrets of our city while you learn Spanish at the same time • Our library (textbooks, grammar books and books for different reading levels) and a video library are at the disposal of the students through a free loan service.
Giralda Center offers all of its students free Internet access.
